Money, Racism
and
the Church

Adult Sunday School

9:30am, Room 110

The adult study class will examine Malcolm Foley’s book, The Anti-Greed Gospel: Why the Love of Money Is the Root of Racism and How the Church Can Create a New Way Forward.

Our federal government is presently being influenced by a white Christian nationalist philosophy and theology, the heart of which is white male authority, racism, political power, and economic exploitation. The majority of Christians in America  including  Colesville Presbyterian Church disagree with this and are resisting their efforts.

Dr. Foley’s book provides a history of how white greed led to racism, slavery, and our unequal justice system. He includes discussions on how churches can respond in positive ways to our present reality.

Colesville Presbyterian has a history of being an open, accepting, and inclusive anti-racist community of faith. This class will provide an opportunity to discuss how our country got to the place we are in and what practical steps are possible for a small church to take as we stand with and support those being oppressed and discriminated against.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to be an active part of the vision and mission of CPC. Books are now available in the church Narthex. Beginning September 7, classes will be led by Charlie Robinson every week during the Sunday School hour, 9:30 am, downstairs in Room 110.
