CPC Garden for All

Summer is upon us and the garden is beginning to grow! We have begun to plant cooler weather plants in the main gardens. This includes sweet potatoes, white & red potatoes, onions, broccoli, cabbage and carrots. Some of these plants you will begin to see and others are still germinating. The herb garden, along the backside of the church, has also started to grow. Some of these herbs came back from last year and are already in abundance such as oregano, thyme, nasturnium, chives, and lavender. We will begin to plant more herbs in the coming weeks as well such as basil, rosemary, dill and more. As the warmer weather starts, we will be planting peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and eggplant around the building.
We will not be having a mass planting day as we did last year but each upcoming Sunday, you can find that planting and watering happens before and after church. You may also see some fencing added in the coming weeks to keep critters out of our veggies! Take a walk around the church and see what is growing. Herbs and veggies will be available each Sunday as the growing season continues!
