Be a multicultural, family-oriented and presbyterian ministry known by its worship, excellence in management and operations, Christ-like character of its members and life-changing compassion for people of all backgrounds.
We are a diverse life-changing ministry reflecting the Glory of God through Biblically-based Worship, Outreach, Discipleship and Servanthood.
WE ARE DIVERSE
Not surprisingly, because we are inclusive, our people and leadership are quite diverse and reflect the dynamics of our community setting. When you walk through the doors you are likely to see someone very much like you.
Our doors are open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey.
We’re passionate about people and providing them a place to have a life-changing experience through prayer, word, worship, outreach and community development.
Rev. Laura Batten-Carbaugh (she/her/hers)
Colesville Presbyterian Church is proud to introduce to our congregation the Rev. Laura Batten-Carbaugh, our new Pastor of Colesville Presbyterian Church. Laura is a Princeton Seminary graduate and has been leading churches in ministry for more than twenty years. She has served in a variety of positions including Director of Christian Education and Youth, Interim and Transitional Pastorates, and Co-Pastor and Head of Staff. Laura brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to her work as Pastor. Additionally, she sees pastoral care as a sacred privilege and responsibility of the Pastor (working alongside the Deacons), and is EXCITED to begin working, growing, and learning with and from the congregants of CPC.
Laura is a truth-teller, a transformational leader, and a passionate advocate for all people to come to know the love of God in Christ. It is Laura’s joy and delight to see how the Holy Spirit transforms and heals hearts and lives as we walk through life together. Laura is passionate about working for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and loving our neighbors without exception and she believes that radical hospitality, creating community, cultivating faith, and encouraging the spiritual life of all people are at the center of her purpose in the world.
Laura and her wife Ashley have four beautiful children: Olivia, Abbie, Ben, and Nate. In her downtime, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, reading, binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix, and all things Christmas! Laura, Ashley, and their family currently make their home just over the MD/PA line in Greencastle, PA but are looking forward to moving to the DMV and growing together with their new CPC church family.
Laura began her tenure as Pastor on November 1, with her first Sunday service leading on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
