Soldier Supply Packing Project

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our July 31st project packing day.  We sent 54 boxes of personal hygiene supplies, snacks, and magazines to our new partner, the 85th Medical Detachment (Combat Stress Control).  CPC's next project packing day will be September 25th,  Watch CPC communications for information on how you can help!

School supplies project

Thanks to everyone who contributed time, gifts, and talent to make this year's School Supplies Project a big success.  Lots of Montgomery County C-4 clients will begin this school year with brand new school backpacks, pencils, paper, glue sticks, pencil boxes and the like.  This is an amazing gift to area children who otherwise wouldn't experience the everyday joy of beginning a school year with new supplies.

Food for MANNA

Don't forget to bring non-perishable foods to church the first Sunday of EVERY month.   In July, CPC collected 92 pounds of food that we delivered to the MANNA warehouse in Gaithersburg.  The hungary are very much in our midst!  MANNA helps feed them.

Thanks....

Thanks to ALL of you who supported CPC's service at the Community Based Shelter March 28-31.  Together we prepared food, served dinner, and donated supplies.

The Community Based Shelter (CBS) provides transitional housing in a shelter environment for single adult women already committed to changing their lives with the support of mental health, medical, and
therapeutic programs. Many residents are involved in education and job training programs, or may indeed have jobs. CBS provides the case management structure necessary to help residents recover and move to permanent housing.

And thanks to those of you who supported CPC's build team in this year's Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC).

RTMC helps low-income homeowners with home repairs and accessibility modifications to help them remain safely and independently in their homes.  This year, we sponsored an elderly widow living in Silver Spring.  Some of the projects we worked on included upgrading windows, insulating doors, minor electrical work, light painting, yard work, and junk hauling .

Souper Bowl of Caring & Food for MANNA

Thanks to all who contributed their food and monetary gifts.  Together we raised sent 210 pounds of food to MANNA and $477 for Elizabeth House in Laurel.  This was a great support CPC youth in this wonderful project.

Habitat for Humanity Build Day

Thanks to all of you who helped make both of our  Habitat for Humanity summer 2009 build days such a success.  CPC crews served our neighbors on June 13 and August 15.

Help Africa

Thanks too ALL of you who helped make CPC's Help Africa day a big success.  Pastor Kennedy of our neighbors the Ewe Church of Amerca has founded Help Africa Incorporated, a non-governmental organization based in Maryland.   The goal of the group is to collect donated items which may be used to assist children, families, orphanages, and institutions such as hospitals & school in Africa.  The Mission Team designated June 7 as The Help Africa Collection Sunday.
