Dear Members and Friends,
Here is your friendly weekly reminder of what’s going on at Colesville Presbyterian…
SUMMER WORSHIP - ONE SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M. EACH SUNDAY through September 12th. We start back to TWO services on September 19th.
Welcome to Stephen Harris!
Stephen Harris began work on September 1st, as CPC’s Director of Christian Education. His primary responsibilities are with children and youth. Stephen lives in Eldridge with his wife Ashley, and is a recent graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., where he received a Master’s degree in Theology. Work experience includes a year internship at University Methodist Church in College Park, two years of experience as a youth worker at Central United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, substitute teaching with Howard County and Anne Arundel County public schools and employment as a staff writer for Decoy Music. Welcome Stephen! Please drop by and meet our new CPC team member!

No Adult Education Until September
Our Sunday morning Adult Education class will begin on September 19th. Rev. Ken Eimer and Pastoral Associate Aaron Frank will be co-teaching a class on Bible Basics or what we sometimes call "Bible 101". Stay tuned for more details.
Lemonade Sundays
Following the service on Sunday, join us under the tree in front of the church and enjoy something cool to drink. Meet old friends and make new ones. We will be there each Sunday this summer. Lemonade Sundays are sponsored by the Membership Team.
NEXT WEEK:
Monday, September 6th, the church offices will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Men’s Breakfast
Please note that the September Men's Breakfast which is usually held the first Saturday of the month has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 11th due to the Labor Day holiday. For more information, contact Wes Wise.
Rally Day is Sunday, September 12!
Stephen Harris, our new Director of Christian Education, will be introduced and meet with members. Come to Rally Day to see all the things that CPC has to offer you: teen and adult mission opportunities, membership and worship activities; music ministries; youth and adult education; annual and special events; and much more. The event will take place Sunday, Sept. 12, in Fellowship Hall after the 10 a.m. service. Refreshments will be served. If you would like your committee or group to participate, or you have any questions, contact Jean Dimeo Edwards.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Looking for New Elders
This is the time of year that our Nominating Committee is looking for church members who are interested in serving as elders. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact Claire DuSault, the Chair of our Nominating Committee, or Rev. Ken Eimer, our Interim Pastor and Moderator of Session.
Kerygma Adult Bible Study Begins September 23rd
Please come to Kerygma Adult Bible Study. Discover or rediscover the Bible in a study that is a basic introduction to the Bible as a whole. The course, “Discovering the Bible,” explores biblical people, events, ideas and places through reading, reflection, discussion, creative expression and discovery. The class meets on Thursdays at 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm, in Room 114, beginning on September 23, 2010. This is an opportunity for those brand new to Bible study and for those who have had long familiarity with Scripture to learn together. If you have questions, contact Bea Harris.
Soldier Support Packing Project ~ September 25th
We are gathering supplies for our next soldier support packing day. Mark your calendars to join us at 8:30 am on Saturday September 25th. Flyers are in the CPC foyers listing what we need for our boxes to the 85th Medical Detachment (Combat Stress Control). If you'd like to support the project but DON'T want to shop, we welcome your financial support. Make your check payable to CPC and mark it "soldier support".
CPC Calendar
We are updating the CPC master calendar for the fall. If you have meetings or events that have been scheduled but have not yet been added to the calendar, could you please advise the church office at (301) 622-4555, email colesvillechurch@earthlink.net.
