Our New Church Logo
Designers Statement:
I was pleased that Mary Ross and Marguerite chose me to develop your logo as
logos are one of my favorite things to do asa graphic designer. I thank you for the opportunity. I relied on my own spiritual journey when thinking about your church and what you are trying to accomplish in this world and how that would translate into a graphic symbol. First of all, this design expresses our individual relationship that we have with God as represented by the hand. Secondly, our hands are the hands that Jesus uses to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Only after he has transformed our lives can we then pass on the gift to others. Lastly, the abstraction created by the overlapping hand and cross appeals to the painterly side of me and is meant to represent diversity as well. The abstraction also reminds me how elusive living a Christ-like life is in this world full of distractions and that itis something we have to seek, our path is not always clear. The colors were chosen to represent our duty as stewards to the environment. •
